If you were interested in guest lecturing during the program, you likely could, but it’s not required. Yue may ask you for a bit of help with grading, but he is the primary instructor and grader for the 6 credits students take.
The students are typically academically strong and highly motivated because it’s a competitive program and we interview all finalists prior to acceptance. The program pays for your flights, housing, and international insurance, and also gives you a $5,000 stipend. and we hire local faculty and students in each location to assist with our program, so you’d be working with a team of people, but you’d also have a decent amount of time to yourself for research or other activities you may want to do while abroad. UNC Study Abroad arranges all the program logistics beforehand-flights, housing, daily schedule, etc. International travel experience is required and Vietnamese or Thai language ability is preferred but not required.
